With warmer days ahead and Chicagoland starting to thaw, one thing is clear — spring is on its way! Daffodils will pop up, robins will return to nest before you know it and our real estate agents want to ensure your home's outdoor space is ready for the changing seasons.

  • Check Faucets and Reconnect Hoses
Spring is the time to inspect your outdoor spigots for any damage. Ideally, you should have turned the water off to these faucets last fall, and you can now turn them back on as soon as the worst of the winter cold has passed. Winter in Chicagoland is cozy season, and there's nothing cozier than curling up with a warm drink and a good book on a snowy day. Of course, it helps if you have a great space in your home dedicated to reading!

If you don't have such a space, our real estate agents are here to help. These tips and tricks will help you design the perfect warm reading nook for winter afternoons in your home.

No matter who you're rooting for, everyone wants to be at a great Super Bowl party on game day. This year, skip the crowded sports bars and host one of your own. By following these tips, you can transform any space — big or small — into the ideal game-day hangout.

  1. Have plenty of seating.

The Super Bowl is typically about 3 to 4 hours long, so you'll want your guests to be able to get comfortable. Floor pillows, ottomans, bean bags, dining chairs and even camping chairs can be used in a pinch, but don't be afraid to ask your guests to BYO seating if you don't have enough in storage. A few throw pillows and blankets will make things extra cozy.

Having a dedicated home workout space is on many homeowner's wish lists, right up there with a fenced-in backyard and plenty of parking. If you're ready to transform part of your house into the home gym of your dreams, our real estate agents are here to share some tips for creating your ultimate DIY fitness room.

  • Understand Your Goals. First and foremost, decide how you want to use your home fitness space. Are you looking for a place to practice yoga? Work on weight training? Get your cardio in? All of the above? The size of the space, coupled with your intended use, will set the foundation for how you bring your gym to life.

  • Start With the Right Space. If you already know exactly where you want to set up your home gym, then you can skip ahead. Otherwise, don't gloss over this...

Like many other foodies throughout Chicagoland, our real estate agents love Chicago Restaurant Week. This "week" is actually a 17-day celebration where diners can enjoy special prix fixe menus at over 470 of Chicagoland's best, award-winning restaurants. From January 24 through February 9, 2025, participating restaurants offer $30 brunch and lunch menus and $45 or $60 dinner menus. These restaurants represent 35 Chicago neighborhoods along with 50 suburban restaurants.
